(750ml bottle from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours lightly hazed bright blonde with an average looking white cap. Notes of pale cereals with some citrus and pit fruit of moderate acidity with a distinct vinous quality, some slightly bready yeast with moderate funk, and woody notes with a hint of maple to them, some herbal hop/phenol character too. Overall balance is lightly sweet up front finishing somewhat dry with restrained fruity acidity. Light to medium bodied with fine filling carbonation. The maple wine barrel is subtle but defiitely present and this is a very good wild ale blend.
