Bottle at Gitta’s. Pours almost black with a slight maroon tint and a medium sized foamy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, roasted malt, nut, chocolate and dark fruit. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average to soft carbonation.

Bottled (As Vinter ale). More or less black colour, small off-white head. Aroma is roasted malts, some nuts as well as mild caramel. Flavour is roasted malts, mild ashes and some chocolaty and mildly bitter notes.

Bottle @ Rene’s house. Thanks Rene! Dark brown appearance with a foamy, brown head and nice lacing. Burnt toffee, roast, brown sugar, grassy aroma. Fairly sweet, dark caramel/burnt sugar, roasty, a bit charred flavor.

Clear dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma is roasted malt and caramel. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. The finish is soft, dry and roasted bitter. As the describtion claims, this goes well with rye bread for lunch. 071109

330mL bottle, pours black with big beige head. Aroma of toast, faint roasted malt and yeast. Flavour is very leathery, light toast, and light licorice. Not a fan of this at all.
