In a world a world that's full of change, it's good to know that Lucky Beer offers something consistently good natured. Although the distinctive laughing Buddha bottle is central to our brand, Lucky Beer - and the good fortune it shares - transcends all religions, cultural boundaries and beliefs.
In its simplest form, we stand for goodwill for all humanity.
"If you think that enlightenment is separate from the drinking of beer you have not yet understood" Ancient Taoist Saying.
The "Laughing Buddha" depicted on Lucky Buddha beer is actually not THE Buddha and therefore not religious but cultural. He is incorporated in Buddhist, Taoist and Shinto traditions. The term buddha means "one who is awake", connoting one who has awakened into enlightenment.

Sampled from a 12 oz green figural bottle this beer poured a bright yellow-gold color with a medium sized creamy whtie head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was tangy, grainy and pefumey. The flavor was tangy and a bit sour with strong artificial sugara nd perfume. Long artificial sugar and perfume finish. Light body. Pretty awful.

Location: Ridiculous looking bottle at Pig and Khao, 2/14/15
Aroma: Aroma is basically nothing, light malt and adjunct notes
Appearance: The ridiculous looking bottle pours out a clear and watery looking beer
Flavor: It has basically a nothing flavor as well, what's there is too sweet
Palate: Light and watery on the mouth, thin, short finish
Overall Impression: Not much of a beer at all, utterly forgettable.

330ml (great) bottle into glass. Chinese new year! So Chinese beer. Not much aroma, maybe distant cooked vegetables. Very pale yellow, thin head, little carbonation. Chalky mineral water taste followed by slight bitter finish. Average but great bottle!

bottle - Pours clear yellow with a one finger white head. The aroma is very grainy. Adjuncts. It has a sweet, grainy taste with the ghost of some hops in there somewhere. I’ve had worse. Obviously this beer is mainly purchased for the bottle.

You have to be leery of a brewery that puts this much effort into the bottle gimmick. Clear pale golden color with a medium fizzy white head that burns away quickly. Spotty lacing. Adjunct-laden aroma with corn and malt. Light-bodied with grainy malt, corn and slight grassy hops flavors. The finish is bland grainy malt. Below average overall.

Buddha shaped bottle, bought from World Market. Poured a clear golden color with a small foamy white head. Aroma was light pale lager malts, grain, some very light earthy hop notes. Flavor was lagered notes - grain, corn. If I could give the bottle a rating, it’d get a 5/5.

Bottle. Slightly sour barley malt and straw aroma. Medium yellow with nice head. Lightly sweet barley malt, cardboard, and dry grass flavor. Not horrendous.

Had this at the 2014 RB Pittsburgh Summer Gathering at Horny Devel’s place. Actually it was after the equinox at the beginning of fall, but DILLIGAF. Big thanks to James & Michelle for hosting such a nice spread of quality beers. Smell is sort of lemony at first., just slightly. Nice bottle, normally would give this beer a 2 but bottle makes it a 3. Some mild co2 in there at first. Very mils and easy going flavors. No ill effects on this brew. Much better than expected. Overall, a decent brew considering the marketing gimmick, especially since it came from chine, heheh.

It was the bottle that caught my eye. Average pale lager, light malt aroma, even lighter taste. Very mild bready finish. Light, wispy head, very pale golden body. Easy to drink, easy to forget.

11.16 ounce bottle from Beer Run, opened 6/23/14. Pours a clear golden color with a thin fizzy white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of skunk and grain. The taste is skunk, pale malt, grain, green banana, corn. Thin bodied. Seems like this is more about the bottle than the beer. I give the bottle a 2.7, this… not so much.
