Bottle from Alko Åbo thx Mum cons 2012-10-31 Göteborg AR: sauna smoked black ham, tar, peaty AP: dark ruby/mahogney clear body, high qickly disapperaring fizzy beige head F: heavy smoky woody aroma, wee honey sweetnees, ham & sausages, the smoke is great but there is à disturbing bitterness that is not to great, rich in carbonation, finishes smokey and grape fruit juice

A dark brown beer with a quite weak and beige head. Aroma is pleasant and smoky, tarliquirice, some ham, nice aroma. Taste is malty, mild dry smoke, quite light and short taste. Light+, nice carbonation, too light body, richer body should give also more intensive taste. Quite nice smoked beer, but too light body and the short taste isn’t very convincing.

Aroma is sweetish and somewhat smoky with vanilla, tar and slight woody notes. Flavour has smoke, some tar and smoky ham. Also a slight grainy feeling. Not the richest smoked beer and a bit too sweet, but not bad anyway.

Tastes great. Yet another successful Finnish brew. And among them the first smoked one genuinely worth its own points. Somewhat expensive, though.

Draft at Teerenpeli. Deep maroon color, solid white head, solid curtain of lacing. Aroma of campfire. Taste is roasted chestnuts and burnt coffee grounds, bitter finish. Nice.

Draft @ SBWF 2010. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly woody smokey aroma. Sweetish malty bready smokey caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty smokey finish.

Deutlich schinkenartiger Rauchgeruch. Sehr rauchig süßer Antrunk, harmonisch und ausgewogen. Die Süße flacht etwas ab, so wird auch die Rauchigkeit schwächer, es kommt nun eine herbe Note zum Vorschein. Mittel-würzig, im Abgang, wo die Rauchigkeit wieder zunimmt, kräftiger. /12/12/10//11

Draught, 250ml at the Teerenpeli Kamppi. Beige head when agitated atop of a clear, mahogany coloured body. Inviting smoked malty nose. The taste is smooth with smoked malts and a bit of tar. Mix of salt and sweetness. Soft in the mouth. Easy to quaff. Likable (Helsinki, 03.02.2011).

On tap at Teerenpeli in Helsinki, July 2010. Amber with a small head. Mild smokiness in both aroma and taste. Also malt, smoked ham and salt. Medium body with medium carbonation. Not bad.

Poured a copper body with a thick, slightly off white head. Sweetish nose of pancetta and malt. More pancetta in the creamy taste, slightly sweetish and nicely smokey. Not too complex again, but a nice lighter Rauchbier!
