Bottle 375ml. @ home. [ As Castlemaine XXXX Export Lager ]. Clear medium yellow color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, corn, sweet malt - corn, light hoppy, celelose. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is light medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20091019]

19/02 0.33 l bottle Doggythedog brought from Graz, thanks for sharing! Italian version. This poured golden body with no head. Very weak nose, sugary malty with some corn. Boring corny flavor...watery, slightly sweet to sourish, but don’t exactly know how to describe this boredom. Should I talk about the finish? OK, some cardboard added to all of that. Just hope Australian version is better. This is drinkable only it reminds water...a bit spoiled though.

Castlemaine XXXX Export Lager, brewed by Carlsberg Italia at their Induno Olona plant, purchased at the Interspar in the City Center West in Graz. Golden body, almost no head. Extremely weak nose, maybe some alcohol/malt, a bit sharp (if one can call something so elusive "sharp"). The taste echoes the nose, surprise surprise. Some pollen and weak maltiness, corn maybe, dryish overall. Extremely weak cardboard. Impressively useless. I’m pretty sure I’d rather have water.

33cl bottle bought in Italy. Pours clear see through yellow with a white head. Sweet malty/grassy taste with some decent bitter hops. Fresh & crisp. Bought a six pack and brought it back home to Denmark with me. Decent pale lager!

33 cL bottle at Fiumicino airport, Rome, licensed brew by Carlsberg in Italy, comes as Export Lager. Pours clear and golden yellow with a diminished white head. Light aroma of brewing cereal. Light bitter flavour with a mild sweetness from the malt. Medium dry finish again with a light bitterness. Decent light brew.

(Can 37,5 cl) Clear golden with a dense, off-white head leaving some laces. Aroma is primarily brewing cereal. Medium body with sweetish caramel and brewing cereal. A very light bitterness in the end. 100208

Bottled (as Castlemaine XXXX Export Lager by Carlsberg Italy). Golden colour, small head. I like when birds fly high up in the sky, so this has the aroma of malts and skunked hops, while the animals panic and run out of the way of the smell. Flavour is cooked vegetably malts, something that will not make a traditional meat-eating Finn happy. One of the worst things I have had in a long time.

Bottled (BB 08/2007, labeled as Expot Lager, brewed by Carlsberg Italy).
Golden color, not much head. Metallic, hints of cardboard, fruity estery aroma. Unclean, slightly skunky fruity and malty flavor. Fizzy carbonation. Aftertaste vanishes quickly.

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly deminishing head. Yellow colour. Bad soapy aroma. OK flavor but thin and just light bitterness. Watery palate but soft carbonated. This is why there is a canoo-joke.

Ein recht langweiliges Lager. Süffig ist es, das Aroma bleibt aber größtenteils auf der Strecke, erst im Nachgeschmack gefällt das Bier durch feinherbe, lang anhaltende und gut dosierte Herbe. Test vom 10.11.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,6,10,12,12,9 - 9,30
