Bottle picked up from the Dodgy Deli on the Cowley Road, Oxford 09-02-07. I’m hoping that this is the right beer as my one was stated at 4.8%? Anyway Poured a pale golden colour, clear with plenty of carbonation. Was a bit sweet, bit thin and tasting of not a lot about what I expected really.

Harbin; green 11.2 oz green bottle with a nice green foil cover over the lid, very classy looking. Label is nifty looking and higher class. I am anticipating a typical pale yellow american style lager. Pop the lid to get an initial skunky veggie aroma. Pour is typical of a pale yellow american lager and the a aroma now fades to a yeasty beery smell. Very good and well behaved on the beginning taste bud experience but as you continue to drink it has more of a bite. There is a hoppy bitterness in there that makes its own statement. It sticks with you continuously. Bubbles continue to rise from within the glass, a good indicator of its carbonation. Though there is a slight bitter bite to it, this is nothing like a pale ale. It definitely has more personality than your typical lager. Beer is OK except for that bitterness on my uvula. Finish is slightly discordant and it hangs on for a few minutes after the lest swallow. About an average lager in my book, buy a Schmidt’s its much better.

Bottle. Pours light golden with little head. Aroma os grasses, sweetness, and hay. Flavor is surpriningly decent- I must admit I was expecting nothing from this. Hoppy, sweetish, and lightly lemon.

Bottle. Sour corn/barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Very light barley malt flavor but surprisingly more hops in the finish than I would have thought. Another watery bland lager.

Bottle...pale, pale golden color...nice thick foam on pour..aroma has much to be desired...just smells like a common beer...only been a few minutes and foam is already dissipating...palate is thin and light...taste is nothing much... a beer; just an ordinary lager...wanted to try it because ive never seen it in Jerzee and the packaging was snazzy...well, its not undrinkable but this will be my last bottle...(unless of course a friend offers it to me at their house...I wouldn’t want to be rude now)...:)...whoo hoo! I made the rating change from 9 to 8!!!

Pour is a bright yelow with a small white head. Aroma is corny and bready. At least no skunk in mine. Flavor is spritzy and light. Pretty bland and boring.

Didn’t pour as pale as expected, approaching a true gold, a touch of yellow, definitely not straw colored. Fast fizzy head though. Slightly skunked, green bottle. If else, a touch of grass in the nose. The flavor not quite lightstruck, but there was a little sulfury kind of astringency there. Deeper into it, I could notice that the malts weren’t going to come out and play, but they were definitely in the background, providing enough of a mouthfeel to make this start working. Finishing hops also mild, but apparent as a slight spicy grass note. Very clean, and smooth. All flavor elements only slightly above threshold, but given no flaws except for the green bottle, and a delicate balance between those elements, this beer manages to climb just a notch above most mega-lagers. Further, its probably the best Chinese lager I’ve stumbled across so far.

[Bottled] Pale golden, brief head. Light rice aroma. Distinct boiled vegetable flavour. Sweet, thin and extremely metallic with mellow mouthfeel..Rusty water finish. At least it’s somewhat soft.
Earlier Rating: 4/3/2004 Total Score: 2.1
Bottled. Pale golden with rich head. A clean lager with decently firm and soft mouthfeel and low bitterness. Some citric acid up front annoys.

330ml can-pours a foamy white head that reduces to thin. Color is yellow. Aroma is sweet, grain. Taste follows. Fairly standard for the region. Dated 6/23.

Note: If you can get this in the bottle instead of can it is a much better beer.
