Bottle, split at Chris and Ruth’s, 07/09/14. Clear chestnut brown with a moderate off white covering. Nose is nutty, mellow dark fruit rinds, light spice. Taste comprises toffee, woody notes, lightly oxidised. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok.

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium amber color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, nutty, light alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20091114]

Clear amber with a medium beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and hoppy notes. Sweet flavour with toasted malt, caramel and grassy hops. Finished sweet.

Bottled. An amber beer with a huge orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel as well as a bit of bread. The flavor is with notes of caramel, malt, and bread, leading to a dry bready finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of MiP. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma of burned caramel and pumpernickel. Solid body, good malty nose with burned caramel and pumpernickel. Hardly any bitterness. 141109

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small off-white head. Roasted and light spiced malty. Roasted and sweet caramelish to light breadish flavoured. Light roasted and spiced flavoured. Lasting sweet and caramelish sweet malty finish.

Bottle, 6.5%. Vinous aroma, some bread. Clear grey copper colour. Small stable tan head. The flavour is OK malty, has a bit of alcohol. Has a bit of bread in the flavour, but quite subdued.

(bottle) Clear, dark amber colour with a fluffy, off-white foamy head. Sweet and quite sugary malty nose with light toasty elements, sugar beet and traces of plastic. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium bodied with a crispy mf. Ashy and scratchy malty taste with a bitter-sweet malty finish with notes of alcohol (11.08.08).

Bottle: Amber coloured, small off-white head; caramel, roasted malt, a tinge of almonds and mainly vegetables in the nose; sticky MF, medium bodied, moderate sweetish flavour; short, alcoholic, sweet-malty finish, almost no bitterness to speak of. No pleasure at all.......

This beer starts really good, strong, delicious. But it’s getting worse and worse. In the end every gulp hurts.
