Bloomsbury Brown was brewed to commemorate the company’s long association with Charleston, where the ‘Bloomsbury Group’ used as a meeting place during the first half of the twentieth century. Harveys delivered beer to Duncan Grant over many years and a bottle is still occasionally featured in his still life compositions.

A traditional Brown Ale. Sweet and dark with a nutty palate and discreet bitterness. A refreshing drink which may be served with a wide variety of foods or enjoyed in its own right.

A bottle rebranded (I think?) as Dark Mild. I quite like a mild but this is really just a lot of nothing. It looks like a glass of soft drink and the malty, nutty flavour is super light and it feels really watery. Milds are by definition not very strong but they needn't be this thin and nothing-y. It's not unpleasant. It's not really *anything.*

Minimal off white head left a reddish brown finely carbonated body. Malt aroma with brown sugar & dark berry. Medium bodied, so soft on the palate - just slides down. Dark berries, demerara, treacle, bonfire toffee & spices. Punches way above its ABV - not bad

Bottle from the brewery. Nice festive winter aroma, mulled wine. Watery appearance and taste. It reminds me of Scandinavian julmust, but less sweet, like a great soft drink option that would be great if you wanted to avoid heavy alcoholic drinks with food. Absolutely u offensive and a doesn’t taste like a loss of alcohol sufferer, just not much like a beer either!
