Rating on January 15, 2023, for tap 8.9 alcohol in Viedi shop tap filled to bottle, called Meza krauklis: Tap filled to bottle.Bought in a brewery taproom in Jelgava. Not sure of the style. Smell-malt, caramel, faint roast and even more malt. Foam-malt, roast, caramel, more malt and roast. Head is nice medium dark brown Appearance- clear, very dark ruby color, weak carbonation. From - pint Taste - malty, roast caramel, weak sweetness even more malt, some bitter tones in the back. Very malty, a bit kvass like even but more aggressive. Quite good. 6/3/7/4/15 = 3.5 Rating on April 15th 2023 bottled. Now called Melnais krauklis and alcohol of 8.4. Smell-weak to medium, malt, caramel, weak roast, weak rye. Foam- thin to medium, malt, caramel, rye, weak roast.Head is medium-sized, and light brown in color. Appearance- generic black bottle cap, but a nice label. Weak carbonation. From - pint Taste - malt, caramel, sweetness, kvass notes. Feels like same as before, but even more kvass like. Quite sweet. I feel I like it even more now, but maybe I am also thirsty... upped score a bit.
