Cask at the Henry Addington Canary wharf. A reddy brown coloured pour with a lasting speckled cream coloured head. Aroma is semi sweet nutty malts, toasted brown bread, hint of pine, berry fruits. Flavour is composed of semi sweet nutty malts, hint of liquorice, fudge, berries, red fruit. Palate is smooth and rounded, semi creamy, good cask condition. Nice. Had, a second pint.

Cask-conditioned at the Green Man, Bristol 1/12/2016. Deep brown, with a slight, off-white, head. Toasty beer, with a touch of chocolate sweetness, leafy hops and a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Tried at the Queens Head, Kings Cross. I would have called this a Mild every day of the week. Dark reddish brown colour slight tan head. Aroma light coffee and roasted malt. Taste slight sweet fruity to roasted bitter. Thinnish body.

On cask at Monsal Head Hotel. Appearance - deep amber to red with a creamy head. Nose - toffee, nuts and sweet malt. Taste - soggy bran flakes (not in a bad way), honeycomb . Palate - Overall - this is good and I’d say it’s more of a Scottish Ale in style.

Gravity cask at the Drayman’s Son, Ely. Very dark brown, a bit flat-looking with no head to speak of. Coffee and charcoal aroma. Focussed and intense. Taste starts sweet but the burnt coffee bitter pervades just after the initial sip. Body’s a bit thin and flat but it’s not the end of the world. I like this but... a bitter? Are you sure?
