[February 2023] Dark brown, near black, with a reddish tinge and a creamy tan head. Chocolate malt and a roasted earthiness combine, some sweetness up front, on the thin side but smooth with hints of coffee and a subtle bitterness in the finish

Cask at Vine, Wednesfield. Pours a dark reddish brown with a small cream head.. Roast malts in the nose with hints of vanilla. In the mouth it has a creamy texture with malts and Olde English Spangles, plus traces og coffee and dark fruits. Finish is dry – with added treacle. Reasonable but not a world beater.

Cask pint @ Corn Mill, Llangollen on an extremely hot May bank holiday afternoon. Pours dark, small tan head. Woody, roasty nose. Taste is smooth with chocolate and tobacco roast, light on the palette, initially quite tasty but becoming a little thin and lacklustre mid-way through. Still, not a bad cask porter.
