Bottle. Pours black with a brown/tan head. Nose/taste of rich milk chocolate, vanilla, black coffee and roasted black and chocolate malts. Some earthy hops in finish. Body a little on the thinner side for an imperial but still full of flavor. Excellent over all porter. One of the better ones for the price.

Bottle @ home. Black appearance with a dark brown head. Sweet, creamy, roasty, lightly nutty, chocolate malty nose. Moderately bitter, chocolate malty, roasty, light espresso flavor. Roasty, chocolate, espresso aftertaste. Bitterness seems a bit much. Ok but a little disappointing for the style.

reviewed 6/14/2009 Pours a solid dark brown with a large tan head that sticks lots of sticky lace to the glass all the way down. Smells of chocolate syrup and a touch of alcohol right off. Some roast and toffee peak through as she warms. Taste is chocolaty up front followed by a roasty alcohol bit followed by a coffee roasty finish. Mouthfeel is creamy smooth, body is medium to thick, carbonation is light to medium. Not a horribly complex beer, but certainly a very tasty one. I really enjoyed this one on a hot June evening.

22 oz bottle. Poured a dark brown color, nice tan head. Aroma was roasted malts, a bit toasted coffee, molasses, dry, nutty notes. Flavor was roasted malts, coffee touch, chocolate malts, pretty darn good.

650mL bottle, pours black with a tan head. Despite this not being aged, the nose gives off a noticeable bourbon scent, wood, roasted malt and a bit of licorice. Flavour of rich roasted malt, dark espresso, charred / burnt malts and peat. Most wonderful.
