Taste comprises dark fruits rinds, chocolate cake, liquorice, black peppery spice, toffee. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, drying close. Decent enough offering.

I got this bottle in a trade with Wasatch. Thanks John!

A very dark brown pour with a 1 finger head of foam. It leaves some nice lacing and the head retention is ok.

The smell has notes of chocolate, roasted malt, toffee, and some fruitiness. Nice nose.

The taste is big! Lots of chocolate and roasted malt with some toffee and some hoppy goodness and I'm getting a nice sweet-bitter flavour that is very tasty. I notice a goodly amount of dark fruit as well that adds some of the sweet tones and yeah, the alcohol does give me some warming after the swallow but it's not *that* noticeable so I'll sip on. ;^)

Medium mouthfeel here with medium light carbonation. It finishes slightly smokey with a good bitterish kick and maybe a touch of anise. Very tasty and very satisfying brew. I recommend it!

Bottel at CBC Islington - thanks to LKS. It pours hazy deep brown with a small beige head. The aroma is earthy roast, toasty, cocoa, charred wood, rocky road, cocio and a touch of ash. The taste is dry, bitter, oily, rich roasted malt, slick, brown bread, chocolate cake, dried fruits, fruit cake and toasted nut with an oily and chewy finish. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Slick and toothy stuff. Pretty nice overall.

Bottle shared in London - sourced in the US. Aged a few years. Pours black-brown with a creamy, tan head. Strong ashy roast in the nose, baking cocoa. Light sweet flavour with strong ashy bitterness, dried old leather, scorched earth. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with more ashy character, burnt wood, scorched earth, burnt marshmallows, baking cocoa. Good stuff.

Post Borefts I Invasion of Fonefan and Charlottes room tasting! Opaque black porter. Good carbonation and a semi dry palate. Rich dark malt, slightly toasty and a somewhat bitter. An interesting contrast to the high carbonation! Finishes crisp!

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized creamy brown head that lingered and left incredible lacing. The aroma was faint vanilla, chocolate and a touch of hickory. The flavor was light toasty and wood y malts with notes of chocolate, marshmallow, vanilla and a bit of cherry. The finish was medium length toasty malts, wood and vanilla. Medium body but creamy. Too subdued overall. Decent.

Pours black into a Sam glass. Mocha head with medium retention recedes leaving trailing spiders. Toasted chocolate and roasted coffee aromas. Dry with dark caramel and chocolate upfront turning to an espresso middle before the lasting slightly smoky resin finish.
