750 ml bottle into snifter; unreadable bottle dating, but assuming 2009 vintage based on being brewed once. Flat. Pours slightly hazy deep ruby red, light copper/brown color; with minimal head and no lacing/streaming on the glass. Aromas of huge red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, plum, pear, pineapple, apricot, raisin, prune, fig, date, red apple, citrus peel/zest, wood, peppercorn, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, brown bread/crust, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/earthy hops, fruity yeast, and dark/bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of huge red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, plum, pear, pineapple, apricot, raisin, prune, fig, date, red apple, citrus peel/zest, wood, peppercorn, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, brown bread/crust, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, plum, pear, pineapple, apricot, raisin, prune, fig, date, red apple, citrus peel/zest, wood, peppercorn, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, brown bread/crust, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/earthy hops, fruity yeast, and dark/bready malt flavors; with a fantastic malt/bitterness balance; and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Flat carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky/resinous/rindy, and slightly slick mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 9.7%. Overall this is a fantastic American barleywine! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/earthy hops, fruity yeast, and dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the huge ABV, with the mildly bitter/resinous/drying finish. Fantastically soft feel for the style, and not aggressive. Feels like Centennial, Columbus, Chinook hops. Amazing balance of juicy/vibrant hops/yeast, with some dank/earthy notes; perfectly balanced dark/bready malt backbone. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering resin dryness. Well attenuated for the big ABV. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazingly spot on style example. Aged wonderfully for 10 years. Everything you would want to see in an American barleywine, regardless of lack of carbonation. Was not detrimental to drink-ability at all.

Post Borefts I Invasion of Fonefan and Charlottes room tasting! Cloudy amber beer. Nose of fresh hops. Softish palate. Rich hops, not too aggressive. Nice caramel malt base. Finishes with piney hops. Slightly dry. Easy drinking for it’s abv.

Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy orange with small frothy off white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is caramel and raisin malt. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet malt and caramel. Easy to drink hiding alcohol well a very good barleywine from Odell.

750 ml bottle-pours a tight foamy offwhite head that laces with amber color. Aroma is tropical fruit-pineapple, secondary medium malt-caramel. As it sits, the aroma is dominated by pineapple. Taste is herbal/dank/tropical fruit hops with some bite, secondary medium malt-caramel.

Bottle @ Papsø. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a longlasting off-white head. Has a fruity malty spicy caramel aroma with hoppy hints. Sweetish malty hoppy bitter piney flavor with hints of caramel. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter piney finish with hints of caramel.

Bottle shared by Maltzilla. Pours hazy burnt orange color with thin off white head. Aromas of citrus and caramel. Grapefruit and toasted malt flavors with some caramel. Reminds me of a very malty DIPA. Malt profile seems less like a barleywine and more like a DIPA. Medium to full body with moderate carbonation. Thanks Diego.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of hops, grass, and grapefruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops lending it notes of grass, grapefruit, and lemon, leading to a bitter finish.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy to murky orange with a small white head. Aroma is grapefruity and citrusy hops. Sweet caramelish, slight sticky and yet with an uplifting citrusy and crisp hops touch. Ends dry and bitter into the far finish.
