Pour Hop Sun Summer Wheat Beer into a pint glass, give it a long whiff and you’ll realize that this isn’t your average wheat beer. Filtered to a golden clarity and dry-hopped to perfection, Hop Sun is a fantastic session ale in which flavors of wheat, barley and hops co-mingle to a refreshing and zesty conclusion. Hints of lemon and sweet malts waft to the fore as a touch of bitterness contributes to Hop Sun’s bright finish. Enjoy Hop Sun all summer long as a perfect balance to your outdoor recreation. Summer never tasted so good.

Medium, just yellowish head over fine-carbonated yellow-golden beer. Mango, lytchee, rosewater and other exotic fruit, C-hops. Nice. Aromatic hopbitterness, pretty dry, and tasty for a light beer. Again rosewater, but not at all sweet. Light body, but nowhere empty. Slickness is less than expected from a wheatbeer; bit velvety all the same. Very nice, light, refreshing hopbeer. I’m surprised about the lack of wheatcharacteristics.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden with an inch of head. Smells of sweet grasses, light pine, light tropical fruits... Nice, smooth blend of lemon, pepper, hops, and some other fruitines sin there. Not a huge fan of wheat ales, but this is better than most.

Golden with a small white head. Floral and tropical fruit aroma. Grainy wheat and citrus flavour, quite bitter, but too grainy to be a really good quencher.

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly deminishing head. Yellow colour. Light malty and heavy hoppy aroma. Strong pine notes. Moderate bitter flavor. Again pine is dominating. IPA-ish. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate. Not much wheat thought.

(Bottle) Golden and clear. Small white head. Hops and fruitiness in aroma. Quite light bodied and dryish palate with pretty high carbonation. Malts, hops, grapefruit, fruitiness, bitterness and sweetness in taste. Bitter and fruity aftertaste.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Norm's, 8/3/09
Aroma: Citrusy hops, nice lemon nose, some wheat, barley
Appearance: Pale golden-amber color, thin head, spotty lacing, some bubbles
Flavor: More wheat, less hoppy then the nose, decent taste, but not great
Palate: Light body, mediocre mouthfeel
Overall Impression: Started off with a nice nose, but I wasn't completely excited by the rest of the beer. It's alright, I guess, but I liked the taste less then I had hoped, a little disappointed.

Pour is a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is a subtle wheaty breadyness with a litle hop pine in there. Flavor is more on the hoppy side with a nice pale malt. A little watery at times but this is as advertised, a hoppy wheat beer.

Bottle. Poured a clear pale gold with a white head. Aroma was dominated by wheat notes with some hops and fruit undertones. Flavor began sweet and ended with a nice hoppyness.

12 oz. bottle. In my G.I. 312 glass (a smaller weizen) I see a nice, golden head under a puffy head. A bit of bubblegum smell wafts over from the pour. Some nice fresh hops in the nose. Taste shows an almost immediate balance between spicy hops and spicy wheat malts. Lemon notes in the middle. Nice blend of American Wheat and Pale Ale, stays happy all the way through.

12 oz bottle given to me by csbosox. Pour is slightly hazed golden with a smallish white head. Almost no carbonation visible. Aroma of fresh wheat, hay, and sweet floral hops. Nice fresh and clean nose. Taste is the nose, though primarily diluted wheat, with soft sweet floral hop bitterness in the back. Some faint lemon citrus. Nice, though I was expecting more from the nose. Palate is on thin side, though didn’t detract too much. Nice clean quaffable summer beer. Thanks for giving me this one Chris!
