Copper amber with a white head. A good portion of sweet but not caramel malt balance out a medium hop bitterness. Candied citrus notes entice and bring me back for more. Medium bitter finish. A great pint for a night out. Not over the top hops nor is it a slow drinking malt bomb.

Bottle from The Bottle Shop Canterbury. now that is what I call a pale ale. Some malt some hop some valance some drinkability. It’s the kinda beer you could pints of. Or of which you could drink pints. And then argue about which sounds more betterer. Ho and indeed hum. Good beer.

Bottle share round at Richy’s. Reddy amber, with a loose, off white head. Lots of grapefruit and orange. Zesty bitter. Oily, zesty palate. Bitter finish. Liked this.

Bottle during 2nd Annual Midlands tasting group; clear amber pour with a soapy white head, aroma has orange and pine, taste has grapefruit, some orange, quite nice.

(Bottle) Amber colour with frothy, beige head, leaving traces of lacing. Malty, fruity nose with treacle toffee, orange peel, marmalade, caramel, apricots and a touch of grapefruit. Malty, fruity taste with notes of orange peel, grapefruit, caramel, treacle toffee, passion-fruit, apricots and a balanced citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of caramel sweetness. Well balanced, fresh and tasty pale ale. Nice one.

[2/27/15] Draught at Deschutes Brewery & Public House in Portland. Clear amber. Piney and citric hops aroma with some toasty malt. Flavor has some sweetish malt, a bit toasty, and nice bitter piney and citric hops. Medium-bodied.

12 oz bottle. About time I rate an old classic that I have enjoyed so many times over the last few years. I usually track this down on nitro draft, but I’ll take this bottle when I can get it, and prefer to rate it this way. Really nice citrus hops aroma. Flavor is heavy towards the hops and finishes pretty bitter. The aroma and initial hop flavor does it for me. I can handle the above average (in my opinion) bitterness. Overall a nice beer. Drinkable for an all day occasion. Solid.
