The citrus punch of a big IPA, minus the one-dimensional hop sledgehammer. Select specialty malts round out the edges for a complex, copper-colored brew.

Bottle at Brew, Thonglor, Bangkok. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin white head and clingy lace. The aroma is big zesty citrus hop. The flavour is light bitter with a huge zesty citrus fruit, sherbet. light hop bitter palate. Light bodied with average carbonation.

Bright copper. Aroma is full of overripe fruit, bubblegum, higher phenols...jeez...Deschutes is usually reliable. Sweet front, again bubblegum alongside some pineapple/mango tropical fruit notes. Fairly bitter but the phenols are really distracting.

Bottle. A- Citrus, piney. A- Copper color, clear liquid, off white head. T- Citrus, piney, spruce, bitter. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter citrusy finish. O- As someone who does not like APA’s this wasn’t too bad. Still not something I would seek out, but the citrus helped a lot. Not crazy bitter but still just missing something. Good, but not quite great.

Shared by KyotoLefty. Happy to give this a try, thanks! A nice clear golden amber color, with a thick foamy head. The hoppy nose has a zesty biscuity malt vibe. The taste is citrusy light pine & caramel. It doesn’t really scream red ale but yeah as an APA I can see it. Pretty good but I was expecting more from Deschutes though I am not sure how old this is...
