Sampled on draft at Smokin Joes in Pittsburgh this beer poured a dark caramel-amber with a medium sized creamy off white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was butter and grapefruit. The flavor was sweet buttered bread and light piney and fruity hops followed by a bit of caramel and more butter. Long buttery and fruity finish. Fairly full bodied. Eh.

Pours a nice reddish-orange with a fairly good-sized creamy head that fades rather quickly. Aroma of hops and citrus, grassy, floral. Flavor is hoppy and citrusy and quite smooth. Not so much of the bitter aftertaste so common to IPAs. There’s a definite sweetness to the finish. I’d definitely have another.

Flaske 6 fl. oz. spandert av Rune under rateseanse hos ham 24 jan 11. Aprikosfarget. Høyt betongskum. Sterk sitrusaroma. Litt uklar. Smaken sitrus & tyggegummi. God. Tørr fruktig ettersmak med innsalg av mandler.

Big bottle shared with Finn at a rating session up north. The bottle was bought at Utobeer in London, and had been stored in my cellar for a few years time. Nice label design. Lots of dimples to a concrete foamy head, leaving fair lacing behind. Amber-apricot coloured body Quite powerful aroma of dry fruity hops with spices behind. Peaches and ripe orange in flavour backed with malty sweetness. Dry bitter ending. Full body. Likable (Tromsø, 24.01.2011).

Deep copper coloured body with a crisp glow and a nice-sized tan head. Aroma of alcohol, light spices, some fresh hops and a bunch of malt - strong as hell. Full-bodied; Deep pungent alcohol and hop flavour with a good malt backbone and a steady amount of spices and light herbal flavour. Aftertaste shows a lot of character, but mostly alcohol and hops - only some light spices and a short amount of sweetness. Overall, a decent beer, a bit too much alcohol for me and perhaps a bit too much caramel - but otherwise, no real complaints aside from my standard complaint - please don’t make ’big’ beers with more than 6% alcohol only available in 65 cL bottles - it’s stupid. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from McKinnon’s Meat Market in Salem, New Hampshire on 21-September-2010, sampled in upstate New York (New Paltz) on 08-October-2010.

Bottle at GBBF, Trade Day, 03.08.10 Pours amber in colour with a wonderful clarity, large white head sits atop, actually I reckon the description sums it up much better, it is copper and not amber in colour. Some hops and toffee, its a bit sticky at times, the hops come through well as does a light sweet grapefruity touch. Nice beer. b] A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy orange with a finger or so of foamy beige head. Aromas are pretty blah... apple juice concentrate and maybe some dairy cream(?) with some herbal hops, but nothing very exciting, especially for the style. Taste is a mess, too. Lots of apple juice and caramel malt with a bitter herbal funk to finish it off. Leaves me running my tongue on my teeth to see if there is hair or something. It’s drinkable, but barely.
