(Bottle) Deep amber colour with lasting, frothy, beige head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of grapefruit, pine needles, floral hops and caramel. Fruity, hoppy taste with grapefruit, pine needles, caramel, orange peel, dried apricots and resiny, floral hops in the finish. Bitterness is quite well balanced, but in a sence fairly aggressive as well (Sounds confusing? It is). Full body, fairly sweet with some alcohol shining through. Nice and tasty. One of the better Shipyard beers I’ve tried.

Appearance: Slightly hazy amber/copper with a nice fluffy off-white head with some lacing
Aroma: Pine resin, caramel and sweet malts
Taste: Pine and sweet malts. Bittering in the finish
Very nice and drinkable beer. Well balanced, but not over the top with hops which I would have expected from a DIPA. Not sweet in the finish like alot of DIPA’s, which is very nice for my taste.

Bottle. Pours a dark golden color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy grapefruit aroma with hints of pine. Hoppy bitter grapefruit flavor with some malty hints. Has a sweetish malty hoppy bitter grapefruit finish with a bitter aftertaste.

Aroma and appearance were both great at the start as well as the taste, but eventually the taste became a little annoying, and to the last sip was getting to the point where it was a chore to finish. Great grapefruit and pine flavors and aroma. not bad, but wont do it again.

Bottle 65cl.Clear medium orange color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, pine, grapefruit, orange. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090807]

bottle at Ft Wayne tasting - Pours copper and has a big citrus hop aroma. There’s some good malt backbone lending some sweetness to the flavor and of course the citrus hops are in the forefront. It’s a straightforward imperial IPA and pretty well done.
