22oz bottle - Pours hazy light yellow with a big white head. It smells of spice and a touch of citrus. The flavor is heavily spiced with maybe nutmeg and clove among other spices. There’s also some orange zest in there. The light malt flavors are kind of buried under all that spice. The palate is light and bubbly. it’s certainly different and isn’t bad though I wish the beer under all that spice was more assertive.

22oz bottle @Indiana Beerfest-pours a white head and cloudy straw color. Aroma is peppermint/clove. Taste is peppermint/clove, wheat.

Pours hazy gold into a shaker. No head whatsoever. Mild spice aromas. Crisp, smooth and full with coriander and citrus. Similar to an imperial wit.

650 ml bottle. Slightly hazy, golden body with a creamy white head. Aroma is fruity, yeasty, spicy and a bit weird. Flavor also starts a bit weird. Fruity, spicy, coriander and something undefined. Feels a bit artificial without necessary be that. Like a freaky, funky Saison? Tastes actually a lot better after a few classes, when I starts to be familiar with the weirdness. None of the flowers are particular strong, but more like sneaking around with your senses.

Well, it looks like what it is - a lager, with straw colour, and a witbiery haze. Orange, coriander nose with lemon zest and bready pale malts. Very lemon/lime zest flavour. Tangy. Pithy bitterness, probably too much. Some orangey hop notes, doughy pale malts. Interesting brew, but for me some balance issues with too much of the wrong kind of bitterness, overly harsh spicing, and weak malts that couldn’t hope to back it all up.

Bottle from Once Upon a Vine - South on 03/29/2009. Very clear golden yellow body with a small white head. Sweet floral and herbal spicy aroma, hints of anise. Very sweet fruity flavor, with lots of spice, some lemongrass and cardimom. Medium light body with moderately high carbonation. 7/2/7/3/14 - 3.3 Bottle from Once Upon a Vine on 07/03/2008. Cloudy white body with a medium frothy white head. Lemongrass, citrus, faint nutmeg, and possibly grains of paradise. Flavor is ginger, probably grains of paradise, and more lemony citrus hints. Medium light body with moderately high carbonation. Very smooth and easy to drink. 7/2/7/4/14 - 3.4

Bomber from the Coop in Davis, CA. Hazy golden color with a decent white head. Aromas of flowers and spice. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is nutmeg? Along with some malt and hop bitter. Ginger? A pleasure to the nose, and pretty tasty in the mouth. Finish is semi-clean.

Bottle from Wine Warehouse. Hazy straw yellow with a big head that disappears quickly. Aroma is strong spicy citrus. Very hoppy, herbal taste. Thin body. Blah.

No love for Wit beers on this site and I am not surprised no one is happy with an experimental/hybrid wit. Its basically a lagered wit, which comes out very much like a lagered Wit, surprising. Pours a very pale golden/clear yellow color with visible carbonation and a small head that eventually fades into nothingness. Aroma is very much like a lagered Wit with a clean lemon zing and lots of coriander. Taste is just straight zingy lemon coriander, not even a blend, more like someone breed lemon coriander. Awesome, the lagering is great actually, really cleans up the rest of the beer and makes it a beautiful easy drinking spiced sensation. I would drink this anytime I am looking for a summer brew. This is the second well done lager I have had from Shmaltz.[BR]22oz bottle, Sam Adams "special" glass.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is some lemon and spice with a bit of yeast. Flavor is some spice but a huge amount of super carbonation which leaves a prickly sensation on the tounge that takes away any other flavor. I don’t know what they were going for here but its not working in my book.
