On tap at Craft Cafe Imazato. Cap’t Sigs Deadliest Ale - a deep mahagoney brown. Soft cocoa & floral hops with some maltiness. The taste is sweetly malty with a fruity citrus. A clean finish. Not really complicated, a simple but enjoyable beer.

Bottle. Aroma has assertive amount of hops, but still leaves space for caramel malt. Lightly hazy amber colour. Taste is of fresh impression, hop-forward, but with very carefuly measured balancing caramel. Earthy zesty citrusy hops flavour. Easily drinkable, carbonated just right. Good one.

Bottle at The Bottle Shop Canterbury. Oxidised toffee aroma. Some ok hop on the finish but way too oxidised to be pleasant.

22 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours moderately hazy ruby copper color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, orange peel, caramel, toast, floral, grass, light pine, biscuit, nuttiness, light chocolate, and floral/toasted earthiness. Pretty nice aromas with good balance and complexity of hop and malt notes; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, orange zest, caramel, toast, biscuit, floral, grass, nuttiness, light chocolate, light pine, and floral/toasted earthiness. Moderate amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, caramel, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, floral, grass, pine, and earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good balance and complexity of malt and hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately creamy, crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice amber ale. Good balance and complexity of malt and hop flavors; and very smooth to drink. This seemed to be a pretty old bottle, but still turned out to be nicely enjoyable.

On tap at Brewer’s on the Bay. Aroma of citrus hops and lots of caramel. Pours a clear red with an off-white head. Taste leans towards the caramel, with nice support from the hops, mostly citrus.
