Cask at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver; 414 ml
Dark brown color, almost black, with small beige head. Bold beer, the smoothness and roundness is highlighted by the cask conditioning; moderately sweet, with an accent on caramel; but there is a sharp burnt feeling, like coffee, that is less than pleasant. Very similar to the regular Double Dubbel. I’d like to try this strong beer without the coffee.
