The Roman name for the Low Countries–is a marriage of the best in American and Belgian brewing traditions. Belgian pilsner malt, a generous amount of American and European hops and a unique Belgian yeast strain combine to give Belgica big notes of citrus and spice, creating a lively concoction perfect for spring in the Rockies–or the Ardennes. 7.2% ABV.

First released as Belgian IPA:
Just for fun, the brewers took our Titan, a hop forward American IPA and introduced a Belgian yeast strain to it. The result is unique Belgian-style ale with lots of fruity esters, a citrus hop flavor and nice hop bitterness that’s surprisingly smooth. 7.5% alcohol by volume.

[Sample thanks to Arve_Christian at L’Europe (Madrid)]. Cloudy golden colour with an excesive carbonic. White head, perfect lasting, foamy and nice lacework. Aroma has citrus notes, yeast and cinnamon. Flavour is alcoholic, slightly citrus and lime hints with a decent duration on palate. Carbonation and body is medium.

355ml bottle kindly shared by Finn at a tasting session. Dense, rocky, white head that laces well. Cloudy golden body. Fresh fruity aroma with a spiced wheaty touch. Ripe fruits like dry lemon and oranges in flavour with spices playing second fiddle. Earthy malts beneath. Smooth bitter ending with a long tail. Well balanced and good to drink (Tromsø,30.05.2012).

Hazy gold beer. Yeasty orange citrus nose. Semi dry and semi soft palate, turns light and frothy. Honey - orange and then a blossoming bittering coriander spice that really takes over and leaves a bitter aftertaste past the dry finish. Aquired taste but not bad.

Flaske 0,355l fra Utobeer, Borough Market. Delt med Rune under rateseanse i WC-veien 30 Mai 12. Veldig lys gylden. Høyt kremaktig betongskum. En har følelsen av at dersom en vender glasset opp ned vil ingenting renne ut. Litt uklar. Sterk & god krydderaroma. Smaken er ekstremt velbalansert. Appelsinskall, druer & litt krydderFin syrlighet i ettersmaken. Rett og slett et forfriskende og godt øl.

Bottle. An unclear, golden colored beer with a medium sized off-white head. Some alcohol on the nose, followed by sweetness, fruityness, a touch of spicyness and pine cones, and also a little cellar hint and some orange. Sweet, citrusy flavor with piney bitterness, a touch of spicyness and some orange. Full-bodied, warming and pleasantly carbonated. Bitter, fruity and sweet finish. A nice Belgian style American. 110610
