In what has become an anniversary tradition, this bourbon barrel-aged grand cru represents a blend of two different unique barrel-aged beers: an Imperial Stout aged in bourbon casks and an English Barleywine aged in bourbon casks. Both beers have been aging since early 2018, when they were blended intially to make our celebrated Barrel-Aged Stock Ale. That beer was a 60% stout/40% barleywine blend. For this anniversary, we took those same two beers, but blended them the opposite way. The resulting beer is fruitier, more caramel- and toasted marshmallow-forward, while retaining just a touch of the roasty character of the stout. Cheers to three years!

Gives off kind of a Firestone Walker type feel. Lots of stout and lots of barley wine. Scotch and leather, some fig. A little caramel and lime. Pours dark brown with decent head and lacing. Bittersweet finish. Can share at Gilly’s shared by Black Flag guys.
