Bottled at RBESG ’07. Copper colour, average sized head. Fruity with bready malt and a whiff of glue. Lightly roasty with low bitterness.

(bottle, via DerDoppelbock) Clear, reddish brown clour with a big and quite persistent foamy beige head. Moderately sweet toast-malty, slightly nutty and bready aroma with caramel and faint notes of lemon. Sweet flavour with a mild bitterness, light bodied, crispy, if not fizzy carbonation. Toast-malty taste with caramel; slim, toasty, sweet-bitter finish with caramel/toffee in the aftertaste. Light but drinkable “Alt”, that lacks fruit-character and hops; tastes more like a decent Dunkel.

Bottle at Chris_O London bottlefest March 07. Very attractive chestnut/amber colour. Beige head. Candy sugar, very little sourness. Little bit dull, but the toffee is ok.

Malziger Antrunk, leicht fruchtig. Dark foxy-copper, clear beer with a dirty beige head. Bit woody, lots of caramel, and a bit of lactic acid, strange as it may sound, but unmistakably aroma. Brown cassonade sugar, or this Muscovado kind, too. Not sweet, not sour, but bit woody, light-bitterish taste. Short spicey spell, difficult to put a nam on. Ends wry-ish, but also, as with many of this brewery’s beers, very empty; their Achilles’ heel. Light, not even medium bodied. Watery MF. Strange Alt with a kind of sugared Oud Bruin nose. Weird. Big thanks to Sebastian for the full Gemünder series.
