Oak-aged farmhouse ale with Merlot grapes

Just in time for winter, Warm Woolen Mittens is our next exploration of wine grape co-ferments. Yes, we know the next line in the song is bright copper kettles, but we've got that name saved for another special project! Stay tuned! For this beer, we highlight some incredible merlot grapes from Weinbau Vineyards in the Columbia Valley AVA of Southern Washington against a blend of blond mixed culture beers. A stunning garnet-colored beer fills your glass with deep and complex flavors of cherry and plum, balanced against a mild acidity and firm tannins. Pair it with anything you'd love to eat with Merlot and you won't be disappointed.

Barrels: French oak

Microbes: Saccharomyces, Brettanomyces, Lactobacillus

A lot of wine in this. Not sure how I feel about this, with so much wine. Pours ruby red with good pink head and lacing. Light tart finish. Tap at Snally.

Another one of those almost wine wild ales, delicious Merlot funk, should age gnarly good.
