Bottle @ Johnny’s off license, Rome. Pours cloudy amber with a creamy large foam. Nose is tobacco, yeast, orak and fruit. Some vaguely oxidized cellar notes. Flavor is oak, caramel, fruit and madeira. Smooth and vaguely sticky. Nice sipper.

Tap @ pre-ZBF 2010. Compared the three together. Bit more hoppy, less fruity. Slightly less sweet.

Bottle courtesy of madmitch76, thanks again Ken. Pours copper-ish with gold edges and lasting tan head. The aroma is a mix of various light skinned type fruits along with prunes, dates, floral hops and spice hops with slick sweet malts in the background. The taste is sweet and slick with malts then moving into apricots, ripe cherries, some raisins and prunes. Toward the finish I get a murmuring of hops popping up from time to time. It seems more age will do it well. Wish I had more of this series around to let age.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, fruit, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, fruit, and wood, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Bottle that I picked up at Stirchley Wines, B’ham, Apr 09 shared with dad 16-05-09 Pours deep amber, possibly edging towards copper in colour with off white head. Aroma is squishy oranges and some molasses but it’s not the strongest of aroma’s. There is a light fizziness on the tongue, the strength is apparent straight away and the bitterness is a continual one, this a warming beer on the way down. Some fruitinesss, good maltiness, a likeable beer but not quite as good as I expected, I have a couple put away, so maybe in a year or two I will revisit. On to the next two. A6 A4 F7 P4 Ov13 3.4
