Barrel Aged fruity Sour Ale. Historical blend of a rustical saison of which half is aged 6 months in oak barrels which contained wine. Remarkably komplex, dinstinguished through the wild yeasts’ actions. Refreshring, well-balanced between sour and bitter notes, as well as an intensiv fruitiness. The ideal and surprising compromise between wide aromtatic complexity and a refreshing easy drinking beer.

Capped 750 from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dirty orange gold with a 4+ finger frothy/foamy beige head. Aroma of collapsing foam is mild bretty sour. Near full bodied. Whooph! This stuff has an impact, which softens quickly. It’s bretty/barnyard sour with apparent citrus. Makes me think of gueuze. It really does quickly soften, and I could buy this as a pretty funky saison. Bottom line is it is fairly strongly flavored, and it is quite an experience.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a cloudy deep golden with a dense and creamy white head. Bretty, yeasty and slightly tart aroma – quite refreshing. Medium body, dry, tart orange accents, quite some funk and sulphur. Very zesty. Nice one. 230213

Draft at Churchkey. Poured a pretty cloudy golden yellow color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was some light funk, berry fruits, a touch of wood notes, and some spice funk to it. Flavor had some light fruit notes, some woody notes, spice, fruits and a nice funky character to it. This was highly drinkable and enjoyable.

2019-03-13, bottle ~7 years old, 6-5-7-3-13=34
Golden colour, clean, bright, with large head. In the aroma, a bit of barrel and a bit of cabbage. Smooth mouthfeel, mild acidity, mild but nice Brett and wine barrel character.
Faded, but quite nice.
2013-02-23, bottle from Au Grain d'Orge, Crissier, 9-4-8-4-18=43
Cloudy golden color with compact head. Wonderful aroma, deep, spicy and funky, with cloves and sage, then a bit citrusy and musky. The best Saison aroma!
Dynamic and smooth mouthfeel, well carbonated; the delicate flavor is compounded by the typical BFM funkiness, well married to the spices here, there are light fruity traces, some tangerine and orange; correct bitterness.
Excellent.
2012-06-29, draught at Fête de la Bière Artisanale, Crissier, 9-4-8-5-17=43
Cloudy orange color with generous creamy head.
The aroma is fantastic, fresh and spicy, with the typical BFM funky touch; coriander and cloves, perfumy, flowery, with a touch of citrus fruits, and light sweat.
The mouthfeel is very smooth; the flavor is fruity and spicy, with bitter oranges, some wood and light cork; it has moderate acidity and mild astringency.
An excellent Saison with original character.
