(Bottle 33 cl) Vieux Temps used to be on of the best known light Wallonian ales, when it was brewed at the Mont St. Guibert facility. But InBev hasn’t really done much to promote this in recent years. Beautiful amber colour. A dry bitterness not that different from a pils. Some caramel. Light body. My version was 5% ABV. 071093

Bottle. Sour smokey walnut aroma. Reddish brown color with small head. Lightly smokey and nutty malt flavor. Light body. Nice.

(bottle) Clear amber colour with medium white frothy head. Chestnut aroma is dominating. Medium sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, soft carbonated. Quite tasty: nutty, malty & yeasty with a light hoppy finish, not long lasting.

Clear amber color, medium rocky head. Aroma of hops, some licorice, caramel malts. Bit metallic caramel taste. Bitter palate. Not really impressive.

Strange beer. This was the first ever Belgian ale I tried, and one of the beers that got me interested in beer in the first place. Samplin it again several thousands beers later I goit awfully disappointed. Bronze colour. Some grape aroma. Sweet and one dimensional. Plain boring.

Only Interbrew could screw up a Belgian ale to this degree. Bland, forgettable, paltry, insignificant. Good-bye.
