Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A hazy, orangey beer with a beige head. Cellar, some caramel maltyness and a good dash of hops on the nose. Nicely hopped flavor, where the malts are almost left in the background, rather untypical for a bock. Medium body and hoppy finish with medium bitterness. In many ways, this is more reminiscent of an amber ale than a dunkel bock. Quite nice. 090822

Bottle, 7.0%. Hazy light brown colour. Small tan head. The flavour is sweetish malty, slightly syrupy. High bitterness, hiding the alcohol flavour a bit.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Clear amber golden with an off-white head. Sweetish roasted malt and a little caramel. Medium body, lightly sweet caramel but otherwise dominated by a surprisingly distinct hoppiness for a Bock. 220809

(swing top bottle) Hazy, bright amber to copper coloured hue with floaties and a firm mid-sized, slightly tanned foamy head. Slightly yeasty and toasty malty aroma with a tinge of caramel and distinctive notes of ethereally and herbal spices. Moderately sweet flavour, full bodied with a well-matured and soft mouthfeel. Hearty toast-malty and crusty taste with caramel and again these spicy herbal notes. Warming toast-malty finish with a good dash of herbal hops. Well-made dark Bock ླ.VIII.09).

Bottled. A hazy amber with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of caramel and straw. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of straw, but also notes of bread and malt, leading to a bitter finish.

Bügelverschlußflasche: Chestnut-amber coloured, hazy, floaties visible, persistent, almost creamy off-white head with a good lace; rich nose: sweet caramel, roasted malt and good dash of noble hops in the background; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, soft and medium bodied; sweet fruitiness and toasted malt lead to a noble-hoppy, lingering, finish. Superb franconian quality.............
