Sample at the Eurostash tasting on 04/30/09: Can from a small tourist bar at the river port in Bratislava. This beer pours a rich dark brown color with a medium fuffy tan head that recedes steadily. Thick rings of lacing on the glass. Roasty aroma of malt and dark fruit. Medium, smooth body with a robust roasted character. Flavors of malt and dark fruit plus touches of yeast and maybe a bit of chocolate. The finish is malty with a lingering dark plum aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottled(500ml). -By far the best Hungarian macro beer. Reddish/brown coloured, medium sized cappuccino head, milk chocolate and cocoa nose. Pleasant chicory taste with notes of chocolate and light roasted malt finish. Alcohol is very discreet. Finally something enjoyable from Hungary.

0.5l bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado who found it in Hungary. Poured an extremely dark red-brown body witha medium to big thick tan head. The nose proved to be far nicer than expected, fine chocolate (from cocoa to milk chocolate), light coffee. The taste is sweet and dominated by chicory, however, again showing some chocolate,a bit milky. Some extremely light hop, some roastiness. Wow. Not too complex but tasty and superb for a macro. Well imagine that, the best Gösser I’ve tried so far is actually brewed in Hungary. Heh.

heavy, roasty malts, aroma of dark chocolate, just like a strong coffee, i can find a little smoke, tar; frothy, light-brown, mostly-diminishing head, with good lacing; dark brown, thick, oily body, harsh bitterness; dreher bak is too sweet, this is too bitter a little bit, but my choice is gösser bock
