Former brewer B to the P (Ben Potts) took the Rye IPA for a ride and fully pimped it out for Philly Beer Week. 4 different types of Rye - Malted, Toasted, Crystal and Chocolate - bring up the percentage of rye in the grist from 20% to just under 25%. Dextrose and brown sugar were added in the kettle to turbo-boost gravity while lightening the body. Then, this bad boy sat on 22’s for the boil - that is, 22 lbs of a blend of Simcoe and Amarillo hops for flavor and aroma. It was then fermented with our lager yeast to really let the malt and hops glean like freshly polished chrome on a sunny summer day. Finally, this crazy beer was dry-hopped with Columbus and Simcoe hops in the lagering tank. Like the beer's namesake show, once the party's over, we're taking all this with us and you're back to your old hoopty beer, so drink up.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy dark amber to almost brown with a small off white head. Aroma is toasted malty and hoppy. Breadish, almost caramelish, solid bitter grapefruity, light pine impression. Bitter and dry, solid roasted malt backbone.
