It’s an Imperial version of our Wild Raven, comprising a great body of dark malt complimented with hugely flavoured New Zealand and American hops, this beer is incredibly smooth. It’s a limited one so keep your eyes peeled!

On keg at Sheffield Tap - Hazy black body, decent enough white head. Nose is citrus, sweet, sour, lemons and grapefruit. Lots to sniff and it follows through on the taste, with the oiliness and alcohol warmth making this a pretty great beer. At the back of my mind I was comparing it to Wild Raven, but it just seems to be missing summat to make it a classic.

24.05.2014, tap @ HaandFestival:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet, dark malts, dried dark fruits, sugar, butterscotch, winegum, hops, sap, leafs, hints of licorice. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish, sour coffee, hay, lawn, bark, dark malts, sap, leafs, alcohol, oak. Medium to longlasting bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Fair enough.

Tap at Cross Scythes, Sheffield. Murky, cola brown. Big, bubbly, lasting, tan head. Dark malt. Grapefruit zest. Grapefruit pith. Some ripe peach. A light, roast, nuttiness, too. Taste is big, juicy, bittersweet. Palate is tooth melting, tongue numbing, chewy. Finish is long, rising, bitterness. And then some. Worth getting hospitalised for.
