From tap at Lord Nelson. Pours hazy brown with a lacing white head. Mild fruity and caramel to munich malt aroma. Flavour is smooth fruity with a nice caramel and munich malt flavour and a yeast presence. Lingering malty finish with a lasting yeasty touch.

(On tap) Very dark and almost opaque, with a very smal, very fine head. No less than six malts one of which is smoked, which you barely sense. In spite of all the malt this appears less sweet than the brewery’s Rød Mosebryg. The same First Gold hops are used, but in this brew the hops offer more resistance to the sweet malts and they leave a solid dose of bitterness. Again a splendid and harmonious brew from Grauballe. 220505

Tap at Carlsens Kvarter Odense. Wow, I haven’t had this in a long time, re-rate necessary. Dark brown with a lively and lasting, off-white head. Lemon/fruity hop aroma, and a mostly sweet flavour. Fruity aroma with caramel malt and notes of wood and smoke. Malty rich flavour with a hint of smoke. Better craftsmanship than in my memory. Which it should be.

Hazy red color. Light malt aroma. Quite sweet and malty, probably missing a roasted malt character for being a Scottish Ale, and also missing some more hop.
