Fra fad på Tap1 mai-14: en vellykket balanseøvelse mht anvendelsen av rug, men underkarbonert og derfor en heller flat opplevelse. Lervig rye ipa er milevis foran.

Bottled 500ml (Mallaskukko, BB 02/2012)
Murky amber color, mostly vanishing white head. Berryish-caramelly, slightly ryeish aroma with boiled vegetable hints Maybe slightly tart.. Medium-bodied. Caramel, crystal malt, Dane berryish flavors, some rye and vegetables. About what to expect from Virklund.

Off-white rim over totally muddy amberish beer with a mossy sheen. Bready nose, obvious rye or other grains, rainwater. Sweet-breadish taste, caramel. Finish seems to have some diacetyl, getting more sweet. Slick, near sticky, but a nice palate all the same. Quite sweet - if you don’t mind a serious sweetness, this might actually be excellent to you.
