(On tap @ Cinder, Philadelpiha, Apr 12/18) Pours lightly hazed dark orange wtih a tiny white head. Notes of preserved Bartlett pears, backing pit fruit, slightly estery yeast, candy sugar, rather prominent alcohol, sweetness of the sugary malt meets heavy drying from the booze plus a little heat, and dry pear skin in the back. Medium bodied, average carbonation. Pear flavour was good but I can't help but feel it would have been better at half the ABV, this was just overkill. Brute force is not always a benefit.

Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a murky amber color with a medium sized foamy yellow-white head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweet with strong candied pears, pear jelly, sugar and yeast. The flavor was boozy in a way that worked well with strong candied pear and sugar. Long finish. Full bodied. Wonderful
