Black color. Paper aroma. Medium body, too much roasted malt, better body structure later. Monodimensional.

On tap at Copenhagen Beerfestival. A black beer topped by a small, tan head. Woody, boozy nose with coffee, roasted malts, some vanilla and chocolate, and some alcohol. Dark chocolate, alcohol, vanilla, brown liquor, wood notes, roasted malts and coffee in the flavor. Full-bodied and too warm on the palate. Long, sweet finish with chocolate, coffee and some vanilla. A lovely beer in many ways, but it’s too intense on the alcohol. (090515)

On tap. Completely opaque black with a handsome, creamy, light brown nitro head leaving laces. Very burned and fat malt aroma. Very, very full-bodied with plenty of hard roasted malty goodness. A delicious hint of vanilla. The finish has a burned malty bitterness with a lingering sweetness underneath. A very, very serious Imperial Stout reminding me, that you do not need a wooden barrell to make a tremendously classy brew in this style. 160509
