Brewed with chilli and lemongrass, this spicy light ale leaves a pleasant warm aftertaste to wake up the palate!

Cask (handpump) @ The Star Inn, Huddersfield, England. @ [ The Star Inn Summer Beer Festival ]. This would have been a boring citric hoppy blond ale, but hey decided to add some chilli flavor in it (probably more than they intended) making it almost undrinkable. Nice palate destroyer :D I love spicy food, and I love beer however this mixture was a fail.

Cask (handpump) @ The Star Inn, Huddersfield, England. @ [ The Star Inn Summer Beer Festival ]Clear medium to dark yellow color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, moderate hoppy, grass, lemon. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long to average duration, and a big ginger - chilli - peppery after burn. Aroma was okay but the flavor is way to much chilli for me almost undrikkeble, and the chilli finish has a very long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090716]

RBESG Sheffield 2009 at the Star Inn in Huddersfield, cask. Clear pale golden colour, white head. Aroma of malts, bit of citrus and pepper. Flavour is a little malty, some citrus and a lot of pepper upon swallowing. Leaves a sore throat. Too sharp.

Ok... in a departure from normal rating... due to the INCREDIBLY high number of BLOND ales during the Shefiled trip that all blended into one another im breaking them down into three catagories Catagory A : Golden Yellow ... light fruity lemon hop nose ... soft dull light lemon hop Catagory B : Amber ... light dry lemon hop ... soft light lemon hop with a little malt in background Catagory C : Amber ... soapy lemon nose ... light brigh lemon hop Catagory D : Amber ... light grassy lemon hop ... dry grassy lemon hop This is a Catagory D But with a chilli burn in the linger @ the Star festival Hudersfield

Cask-conditioned at the Market Porter, Southwark 09/06/09. Pale gold in colour with a slight white head. Aroma of grapefruit and lemon grass. Flavour began with grapefruit hops before the chillies kicked in. These were initially pleasantly warming, but came to totally dominate with plenty of raw heat and little else. The after taste was very long - I could have done with some yoghurt. Way too extreme for me.
