Bottle, courtesy of Kappldav123. Light smoked and sugary nose. Fairly red, low brown head. Medium to light body, smoked notes hover on top and in the back of the throat, caramel and roast, herbal hops. Sparkly mouthfeel. Light roast and smoke retronasal. Pleasant.

(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Clear dark amber with a small rough off-white head. Aroma of sweet roasted malt - the smoke only leaves a discreet impression. Medium body with roasted malt, a little caramel and a whiff of metal. Again a very subdued smokiness deeper into this beer. The finish is dry. 050608

33 cL bottle, trade with kappldav123. Pours clear and golden orange to amber with a lacing white head. Medium spiced and breadish aroma. Dry smoked flavour with a mild malt base and a subdued bitterness. Mild smoked finish with a very light chocolate to caramel malt note. A bit thin, yet clean and solid.

Test vom 29.4.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,8,9,7,11,7

Bottle (getauscht mit Stefan !): Copper coloured, smaller, stable fluffy head; moderate, quite dry roast-malty aroma; moderate, as well, dryish bitter sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; not sweet, malty-bitter finish with a touch of roasted and/or smoked malt in the very end. More a Schwarzbier in the DDR-tradition than a typical smoked beer...........

(33cl bottle) Clear, brown colour with a non-persistent, mid-sized beige foamy head. Light-sweet toast-malty nose with caramel, notes of sugar beet and shy traces of smokiness in the background. Light-bitter flavour, light bodied with a soft and pleasant carbonation. Toast-malty, slightly earthy taste with light notes of caramel; dry and moderately bitter roasted finish with light notes of smoked malt. Pleasant Schwarzbier with a delicate smokey touch (11.03.08).

The bottle looks not bad, the beer in the glass also. But there’s not much foam. Smells smoky-moldy. Flavor the same, malty. An average beer.

Draught. Muddy, brown colour. Small light brown head. Slightly smoky aroma, salami-like. The flavour is smoked, not overly, but distinctly. Nice, porky smokyness. The aftertaste, on the other hand, lacks smokyness.
