Double Barrel Aged CHUNK spent 12 months maturing in bourbon barrels before making its way into rhum barrels in April of 2023. That’s a full 30 months of bubbling and aging, resulting in a beer that is, quite simply, over the top.
The flavour profile? Well, you certainly won’t be disappointed. Upon pouring, expect aromas of marzipan, baking spices, and bold anise. As the beer warms, the barrel influence takes over, with smoky, charred, booze-soaked wood notes dominating the nose.
With each sip, layers of caramelized sugar, rich oak, and hints of liquorice allsorts emerge. As Rocky, our Barrel-Aged Program Leader, puts it: “It has an omnipresent finish that lingers, rolling between boozy warmth and sticky molasses.” Trust us – he knows his stuff.
Crafting a beer this complex is no small feat. It required our brewers to work multiple overnight shifts, as this marks the longest boil we’ve ever done – talk about dedication. We can confidently say that this rich, boozy sensory experience will stick with you long after the last sip.

500ml (thx, Chris S., for forwarding the box!) @ 🏡 shared with Alex.
Aroma: bold, moderately sweet, a lot of oak, some leather.
Taste: along the same lines, very thick, some berries character, a lot of American oak.
Overall: good, but it has artificially created thickness that's not great.
