Thanks Bill.
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a gentle slightly hazy brown color. Slim finger’s worth of white foaminess appeared after the head died off.
The smell had a roasted maltiness leading into a subtle dry cocoa and a touch of coffee.
The taste was dried coffee balanced by the cocoa and a subtle nuttiness intruding. Dry coffee/cocoa aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body. It’s fairly sessionable and properly carbonated.
Overall, this was a nice take on a seasonal American Strong ale. I’d have again and it might even go well with a cherry topped piece of cheesecake.

22 ounce bottle. Pours a clear copper liquid with a dense creamy beige head. Aroma is nutty with caramel notes. Complex malty flavor with notes of cocoa, cherry and nuts. Their is an underlying dark caramel flavor with toasted maltiness that steadies this winter ale. I loved this.
