Made with our dear friends Charles Towne Fermentory, this 4.7% crusher melds our beloved German pilsner Sunnyside Dweller with their equally beloved light American lager Yacht Party.

To start, we lighten the hybrid lager’s pilsen malt foundation with Yacht Party’s flaked rice and flaked maize. Then, late in the boil, we combine Spalter Select — the bright, lemony hop that defines Sunnyside Dweller — with two other German varietals: Magnum and Hallertau Mittelfrüh.

The result is a soft, complex, quenching lager with citrusy undertones.

Pint can - clear gold, lively pour, thick and cream head - looks quite inviting, really - nose smells like rice, hay, and grass - creamy texture up front becomes watery through the middle and finish - flavors of rice, white grape, grain - finish has some peppery hops and lingering grain notes, along with a light acidity - tail end is all American light corn lager - it isn’t without it’s merits, but it’s not substantially better than the macro brands it clearly seeks be a craft alternative to, aside from how it looks.

16oz can pours a hazy gold with some creamy, white head. Nose is ok... some poop though, brewer's yeast (the superfood type), honey is behind it, some rice notes too. Flavor is starchy, rice, some straw, honey, flowers. Starchy finish. Interesting.
