Smooth, dark and dangerous, this ale is designed to warm the cockles of your heart whilst sitting around the ingle after a long cold winter’s day outdoors. Although dark and and robust the aftertones of liquorice and blackcurrant make this an ale of complex character, not to be missed.

Can from advent calendar. Dark reddish brown pour, with a medium off white head. Aroma is malty, slightly fruity, toasted caramels, and light breadiness. medium to lightly bitter, lots of toffee, and cereals, with light hops.

Cask, third pint. @CAMRA GBBF Winter Festival 2023, Burton-On-Trent (UK). 17/02/2023 [#5.856 Global - #133 Scotland - #1 Kelburn Brewing Co. (My Scottish Brewery #38) and a new Region (Renfrewshire)] Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma: smoked malts, liquorice and dark fruits. Taste: burnt liquorice and wood. Light blackcurrant. Next one please!

Gravity cask at the GBBF Winter 2023 Festival, day 2 at Burton On Trent Town Hall, 17/02/23. Mahogany brown with a good sized off white covering. Nose is dried fruits, nutty, toffee, dark malts. Taste comprises brown bread, dark malts, jammy berries, earthy, toffee. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close. Not bad.

Cask at the great British winter beer festival. A dull amber coloured pour with a lasting fine beige head. Aroma is semi sweet, rounded, earthy grains, grass nutty. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, light tangy green apple, nutt. Palate is semi sweet tangy, melow cask condition. Ok.
