Cask, Malt & Hops, Leith. Deep amber and bright. The aroma is strange, a bit perfumey maybe. Soapy taste, way too much alcohol in the finish. Not well-balanced.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt as well as some fruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, and fruit, leading to a dry finish.

cask at Bow Bar in Edinburgh - Pours amber gold with a small, lasting head and good lacing. It smells of hops and lightly fruity malt. The flavor has good bitterness and is well balanced. It’s smooth, medium bodied, and quite quaffable.

500 ml bottle, thanks to my beerpal Olav who brought it home from the Orkneys. ABV is 6%. Deep golden colour, big to moderate white head, some lacing. Fairly nice aroma, fruity and herbal hops, also noticeable malts, hints of toffee. The flavour has acceptable malts but is not very sweet, with distinct herbal and "dusty" English hops in the finish. Okay.

Bottle from Corks, Bristol. Amber in colour with plenty of carbonation. Malty, marmalade and fruity hop aroma. Flavour was sweet, with some citrus hop, sticky malts and short dry finish. Good without standing out.

One-third pint, gravicask, SIBA Brewery Bar, GBBF. Appealing clear copper coloured body. Display of laceworks on the glass. Fine aromas of dry, late fruits. The taste character is a blend of dried fruits and malts ending up with a rather long-lived bittersweet ending. A bit vinous on the swallow. Harmonious and good (Earls Court, London 06.08.2009).

Cask@GBBF 2009. Golden color, not much head. Slight fruity and plastic nose. Medium-bodied. Has apple, wood and some grass in the flavor. Bitter aftertaste. A bit like an European strong lager.

Cask@GBBF2009. Golden colour, small head. Aroma is bigtime wooden, acidic sourness as well as some stinging honey as well as mild fruityness. Flavour is sweet honey, nectar, fruits and some bready and caramelly notes, balancing up the flavour to be quite nice.
