Our first large batch of Smashmallow is here and if you can't find marshmallow creme in Hampton Roads for the next week, this beer is the reason. We tripled the marshmallow addition and added mandarin purée to accentuate the citrus character of the hops. More body and residual sweetness make this the best iteration of a milkshake style ipa we have done.

Super hazy golden and pale yellow body with a super thick, eight to nine centimetre tall off-white and tan microfoamed and beautiful head, but way too tall. Aroma of tons of lactose, vanilla, icing sugar, malts, mild oranges, a touch of grass and even more cake, candy and flour - seemingly ultra-rich and mega sweet. Full-bodied; Cloyingly sweet with marshmallows (of course), icing sugar, a touch of kumquats and tangerines, but a lot of malts and yeast, but much more lactose, icing sugar and pure marshmallow sweetness, especially at the end, but all cloyingly sweet. Aftertaste shows a ton of sweetness, a lot of malts, literally NO hops, some yeast, but tons of lactose, cake pieces, icing sugar and even the oranges, but this is too cloyingly sweet to take seriously. Overall, this is definitely not any type of IPA, this is a super sweet, unfiltered, but relatively simple ale, not good and not worth searching out or even buying if its right in front of you. Nice to sample in s'mores season, but this is a waste, especially as any 'type' of IPA. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from MOM's Organic Market in Alexandria, Virginia on 06-September-2021 for US$4,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 17-September-2021.

Batch 472. Cloudy papaya-mandarin smoothie body, thin, quickly disappearing cream head. Nose surprisingly light, at least initially, mostly mandarins and perfume. Body is straight-up orange creamsicle and excessively sweet, with hops (or merely citrus rind) oiliness around the edges. Tasty but where's the beer?

Strong orange nose. Opaque orange thick viscous pour, thin head. Sweet orange. Full body, soft carbonation. Too much juice, too sweet, not very beery.
