Sample at Eurostash III tasting on 01/12/2012: Thanks a bunch to JaBier for snagging a bottle! The beer pours an amber-gold color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Fruity, malty aroma with spices in the background. Full-bodied with a ripe fruity character and notes of dark malts, spice and yeast. The finish is fruity with a lingering sweet aftertaste. I had reservations about the probably age on this beer but it held up surprisingly well. Pretty good overall.

Bottled@The 2nd ES/CS Beer Tasting. (thanks K.K.!). Reddish orange colour with a mediumsized foamy off-white head. Aroma is quite much a Belgian tripel meeting toffee and American hops. Flavour is being similar, in a nice balanced. Hides the ABV really well, making this a pleasant and refreshing strong ABV beer.

22 Oz. Bottle. Pours a nice auburn with a small off-white head, dissipating to nothing over some time. Aroma is sweet with caramel malt. marmalade and liqueur. Tastes sweet as well with a lot of honey, brown sugar, slight sweet potato flavor, and orange-cake. Finishes sweet and warming, flavor doesn’t really evolve into anything on the finish, it’s just a weaker version of what you just tasted. I do taste the alcohol. It has a 10.5 % alc. / vol. It is now "retired" I’m glad I have two bottles in Reserve.

pours amber, light off-white head. aroma and flavor, pungent dark fruits, grainy and yeasty, with lingering grainy elements. Not really what I was expecting when reading the bottle description. doughy malty finish.

bottle thanks to muckjoe, pours dark amber with a medium off white head. Aroma is light hay and a soft sweet syrupy smell. Nice sweet pale malt and candy sugar with a yeasty sour finish. Nice strong ale.

Golden color, small head. The aroma is simple, a bit fruity. It has some sweetish caramel flavor, with an evident honey side. Correct bitterness, but also the alcohol shows up. An ok beer, but it can be boring.

Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Clear amber, no head. Aroma of marzipan and glue. Sweet and grainy with lots of marzipan. Way too sweet. Very non-Belgian feel to it with it’s overpowering residual sweetness, yet alcohol clearly shines through. Ther are some pleasant flavours of orange and marzipan, but overall it’s more of a syrupy alcoholic golden strong ale than anything Belgian style.

Bottle 22fl.oz. @ home.Clear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, orange, moderate to heavy yeasty, bubblegum, fruity, mandarin, peach, apricot, nectar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090113]

Bottle. Pours a color that reminds me of new motor oil with a bit of a head. Aromas of honey, pears, apple juice and alcohol. Flavor is a little bit too sweet and sticky for my taste. Alcohol is present, but not totally overwhelming, but still, this doesn’t come together as much as I would like.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy pale golden color with a small white head. Has a malty spicy yeasty aroma with some hints of citrus and alcohol. Sweetish malty spicy yeasty flavor with some fruity citrus hints. Warming spicy yeasty finish with some hints of alcohol in the aftertaste.
