Very hazy peach and orange coloured body with a very thick, large, soapy and super quick dying off-white head that starts off at around 8 centimetres tall and fades to just a thin layer after about thirty seconds. Aroma of funky tangerines with tang powder (the best!), flowers, earth, biscuits, grainy malts, a dash of lemongrass and some other soft herbal elements, all with some noticeable malts and wheat here, but more from the dryness and citrus with no mangoes here, in the nose at least. Light-bodied; Pretty crisp and citrusey flavours show at first with blood oranges, tangerines, full oranges, curacao and a hint of limes as well, but fairly bitter in terms of the fruits and light bodied from the soft and shallow malts with a dash of alpha acids from the hops, but more from the fruits of course. Aftertaste shows a faint hit of brine with some light malts here to try to save face and provide balance, but this really is about the bitterness, acidity and dryness from the citrus fruits, and again without any mango flavours or body, this is thin and orangey. Overall, a very dry and grassy, slightly grainy, but fruit-forward (just not mangoes!) beer that shows a lot of citrus fruits, especially tangerines with some fake fruit notes (tang is great!) and some bitterness here from hops, just not any brine really and definitely no mangoes. Overall, a interesting one for sure, but it isn't bad and does still show a bunch of fruits (just not the ones from the front of the can) and no brine, but still easy-drinking, especially on a still-warm day here in the city in mid-september! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 06-July-2020 for US$4,99, canned on 22-May-2020 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 12-September-2022, while the flag is still draped from the Pentagon, a few blocks from my house.
