Deep and hazy golden coloured body with a peach glow and a nice, two to three centimetre tall off-white head that stays afloat for a while and leaves a subtle lace on the sides. Aroma of very strong tart passionfruit with some wheat and light grass as well, with a dash of sweetness at the end, some moderate yeast and bretty/lactobilly notes and a lot of tart notes throughout. Light-bodied; Very crisp wheatie, malty, lactobilly yeast and slight herbal notes here show through everything, with a dry kick of grass, but beyond all of those are the tart passionfruit and even guava notes that drive home sour flavours and leave the tongue dry and the mouth watering. Aftertaste is crisp and very tart from the fruit notes with a good complexity from the lactobilly funk and some moderate sweetness at the end make this very easy-drinking and enjoyable with some light complexity as well. Overall, a very nice, to-the-point beer with a lot of tart passionfruit flavours, some moderate malt and wheat components with some lactobilly funk around the edges and a small sweetness, but no alcohol, cloying sweetness, pungent malts, rich flavours or strong anything - this is full of flavour, but easy-drinking, in a great way! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from the Department of Beer and Wine in Alexandria (Potomac Yard), Virginia on 10-July-2020 for US$5,30 sampled at my house here in Washington on 10-November-2022, almost two and a half years later.
