A European style lager brewed from the finest quality pilsner malts. This beer is fermented at a lower temperature than most Australian lagers, and employs an extended maturation period. These combine together with a mixture of kettle and late hopping to yield a crisp pale lager.

375ml bottle. Pale golden yellow colour, foam white head that leaves some lacing and aroma of malt, hay, straw, abit grassy. Taste is malty, sweet sourish, with grassy bitterness. Light bodied, medium carbonation, dry bitter finish. OK lager.

Pours clear, deep gold, with a whipped white head. Aroma of grain, corn. Taste is barley malt, a bit cardboardish, watery. Slightly bitter, vegetal/herbal hops. Ok, but not that great.

Aroma is fairly malty with lots of graininess. Fairly clean with only light esters and diacetyl. Faint aroma of corn but not DMS corn. A hint of sulfur. Pours a fairly clear yellow gold with a thin white head thy quickly recedes but lingers on the edges. No legs and only light lacing. Flavor has lots of sweetness to it up front. Some light graininess as well as quite a bit of corn. There is a light to medium low fruitiness. Faint sulfur in the finish along with some bitterness. No hop flavor really. Bitterness lingers a bit with some graininess. Mouthfeel is low to medium low with medium carbonation. Astringency is low but present. A bit slick on the tongue but finishes dry and crisp. Overall the beer is meh. It's fairly fresh with a good by date 5 months from now but it's really nothing special. I expect a light lager to be cleaner than this and the bitterness is a bit sharp. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks kerenmk. Clear pale golden. Aroma of hay, cereals and light metallic hops notes. Sweetish flavor, grainy and a bit stale. Light-bodied.

Small white head. Deep yellow body with light carbonation. Light grainy aroma with rubbery fruity notes. Dry-sweet grainy earthy taste with vegetal maize notes. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dryish (and faintly acidic) grainy maize aftertaste with earthy floral notes. Decent, but far from great. (0.375l bottle, Taste, Hang Hao, Hong Kong.)

I suppose this passes as "exotic" in Hong Kong, though of course it’s labelled as just another lager. Do people ever wise up to the marketing ploy and realize that pretty much all these lagers taste the same, or do they while away in blissful ignorance? It pours with a lame foamy head and that boring yellow piss body you all know. The aroma is corn and preservatives. The flavour is a modest effort of malts with a light finish. It’s basically crap, but better crap than I’ve had lately.
