(Bottle 33 cl) The strong version of Lapin Kulta is dark golden, with a small but existing head. Very pronounced malt sweetness, strong alcohol and a pretty harsh, dry bitterness. Typical malt liquor. 140405

Bottled. Yellow/golden colour, small white head. Malty aroma with hints of fruit. Bready malty flavour which turns into sweetish alcohol in finish. Not much aftertaste. Hides alcohol pretty well, so good Finnish strongbeer in that way.

Bottled, now with name Lapin Kulta Strong and alc. 8.0 % ABV (BB 06/2005)
Golden color, decent white head. Not much aroma, just some papery malts. Starts fruity then turns watery. Alcohol is suprisingly hidden alas it doesn’t give any bock-like body for this. Some late sweetness in the aftertaste. This is quite clean European strong lager but very uninteresting.

(500 ml can). Golden, low head, very alcoholic, sweet but at least there are some hops too. Overall boring, but I didn't find it too easily drinkable - which means that I won't get drunk as fast as the tougher Finns who constitute the target group of this beer. Having met this group as they were busy breaking empty bottles, puking and pissing in every doorway in downtown Helsinki on a Friday night (as early as 10 p.m.) - I say: You're welcome!
